The most effective way to get rid of annoying spams for WordPress

For websites using the WordPress, the amount of spams can be very annoying. I have received more than 5-10 spams a day until I install the WordPress plugin WP-SpamShield. The spam has since dropped to almost zero and has been staying that way for more than a month already since I last installed.

Another advice for website owners using WordPress: Change your login to anything but “admin”, I have seen numerous attacks on my website by various hackers who try hacking into my website by brute force and they are almost 100% using the default user id.
